Passion. Respect. Collaboration.

Keeping in Mind Psychology was developed from an ambition to provide inclusive psychological services, specifically with young people of the Sunshine Coast in mind. Our aim is to provide an engaging, respectful, and accessible service, that supports the development of resilience and promotes the wellbeing of young people. Keeping in Mind Psychology is driven by passion and the belief that we are able to make change.

Nicole Vernon-Livingston
Educational and Developmental Psychologist
BEdu(Primary), BSc(Psych), BSocSc(Psych Hons), MPsych (Edu&Dev)

Nicole is the Principal Psychologist at Keeping in Mind Psychology. Since completing a Master of Psychology (Educational and Developmental) at Queensland University of Technology, Nicole has held positions in both government and non-government organisations. Nicole has an array of experience in the treatment of common and complex mental health presentations, drug and alcohol problems, and educational and developmental issues, providing interventions across school, community, and hospital environments. Nicole also has broad experience completing cognitive, learning, and developmental assessments.

Nicole grew up on the Sunshine Coast, and despite travelling for study and employment pursuits, has continued to return to her roots. She is passionate about providing services to young people, particularly those who may be reluctant to seek supports. Nicole implements evidence based interventions, adapted to individual needs and goals, placing a strong emphasis on working collaboratively with clients and their support systems to achieve outcomes. Nicole has strengths in engaging and maintaining rapport with hard to reach young people, with an approach to intervention that is outside the community stereotype of a psychologist.
